North India
February 26, 2007Northern India is a colorful place. I learned this from a movie I watched in my social studies class. If you want proof to as why it is colorful listen to the fact that one of the worlds greatest mausoleums the Taj Mahal resides in North India in Agra. If you didn’t know what a mausoleum is, it is a tomb for someone that has passed on but nicer than a tomb. The Taj Mahal was built for the shaw (leader) of India’s wife by the shaw of India, with the help of countless other people. This splendor began being built in 1631 and took a stunning 22 years to complete. The Taj Mahal gained it’s title of being one of the best mausoleums in the world because of it’s marvelous craftsmanship and radiant jewel encrusted walls. More proof of North India being colorful is that it is home to the worlds most polluted river called the Ganges. This river is 1,557 miles of filth. Dead bodies and the ashes of dead bodies are thrown into it everyday. Despite this being the most polluted river in the world people bathe and wash their clothes in it. […]
